The entire fifth grade class were treated to a "giant" presentation by Sadie Baker, as she dazzled the audience with this "massive" harvest grown in her family's garden! She shared some facts about growing vegetables that are larger than life without giving up the "secrets". The entire Baker family has been involved in this horticultural experience for several years growing these "Giants of the Garden" with very successful outcomes!
The "massive" pumpkins and watermelon grown by Sadie and her brother recently competed at the Spring Hope National Pumpkin Festival in Spring Hope, North Carolina. At the weigh-off competition, Sadie was awarded 7th place for her giant pumpkin and her little brother took 6th place for his "huge" watermelon! Everyone is looking forward to seeing next year's harvest and the "giants" the garden will yield!
