The Frankford Elementary Archery Team getting ready to enter the James Monroe Archery Tournament, Lindside on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 9am.
In their very first ever sanctioned competitive tournament, the team proudly walked away from the tournament with a 2nd place finish behind Alderson Elementary but defeating Peterstown Elementary, Mt. View Elementary, Union, Hinton Area Elementary, and Ronceverte Elementary.
The team’s next tournament will be Saturday, January 27th, 9am, at the Summersville Convention Center.

Greenbrier County Schools (GCS) will host Pre-K & Kindergarten registration on two dates and locations for children four years old before July 1, 2024, for preschool and five years old before July 1, 2024, for kindergarten. Students currently enrolled in a GCS Pre-K program are automatically enrolled in kindergarten in their home school district; therefore, parents of GCS Pre-K students will not need to attend a registration session.

Greenbrier County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay schedule on Monday, January 8.
After 3rd graders learned about patterns in forces we made twirly birds to discuss the forces of gravity and friction. The students all made a standard twirly bird and then got to be creative to redesign a second to see if they could get it to spin faster to the ground.
Planning is underway for the 2024-2025 school calendar! We invite parents, students, staff, and community members to complete a brief online school calendar survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K8NC79M. The survey closes on Friday, January 19. Calendar options and a planning guide are available at https://www.greenbriercountyschools.org/page/school-calendar-planning. GCS will host a public forum regarding the calendar on February 13 at 5:30 p.m. and March 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kyle & Ann Fort Arts & Sciences Building on the New River CTC campus. The 2023-2024 school calendar will be presented for approval at the regular meeting of the board of education on March 12.
The students in speech love using various objects to identify beginning letters and sounds and work on verbal sound production and vocabulary.
